Packaging Seal Company is a Solvent Adhesive Tape manufacturer for carton sealing work where ordinary packing tape may not hold well. This BOPP solvent packing tape is made for recycled corrugated board, dusty warehouse handling, cold storage cartons, and export boxes with stronger flap tension. It uses BOPP/OPP film with solvent natural rubber adhesive or solvent acrylic adhesive for hand dispensers, automatic case sealers, and heavy-duty shipping lines.
Product Overview
Not every carton surface behaves the same. Recycled boxes may have loose fibers, printed cartons may carry heavy ink, and cold-room cartons can lose surface tack after storage. Solvent Adhesive Tape is produced for these sealing conditions, where fast wet-out and firm pressure help keep the box flap closed.
The BOPP film backing, commonly 25 um, 28 um, 38 um, or 50 um, gives the roll tensile strength, controlled stretch, and clean cutting behavior. The solvent-based adhesive helps the tape grip uneven paper fibers, dusty linerboard, coated boxes, and cartons with spring-back force. Solvent natural rubber adhesive is normally selected for aggressive initial tack, rough carton surfaces, and lower-temperature handling. Solvent acrylic adhesive is used when longer storage stability, cleaner aging, or better UV resistance is required.
For standard export cartons, 50 um solvent based carton sealing tape is often enough. For heavy boxes, overfilled packages, cold-chain cartons, or cartons with strong flap memory, 65 um and 90 um structures give better backing support. Hand rolls are commonly supplied in 50 m, 66 m, and 100 m lengths. Machine rolls can be supplied in 500 m, 900 m, or 1000 m.

Benefits
- Strong initial tack on recycled cartons, rough linerboard, and dusty corrugated surfaces.
- Helps reduce carton pop-open on overfilled boxes or flaps with spring-back force.
- More stable sealing in cold rooms, humid warehouses, and changing transport conditions.
- Typical peel adhesion reaches about 5-8 N/25mm, depending on adhesive coat weight.
- Tensile strength can reach about 70-120 N/25mm according to total tape thickness.
- Machine rolls support stable unwind, clean cutting, and smooth case sealer tracking.
What should be tested before selecting solvent adhesive tape?
Before regular production use, the tape should be tested on the same carton grade used in the packaging line. Recycled paper content, surface dust, coating, ink coverage, humidity, box weight, and flap tension can all change the sealing result. A useful check includes initial tack, edge lift after several hours, carton pop-open after stacking, and seal condition after storage. For low temperature packaging tape use, the sealed carton should be tested in the real cold-room condition.

Applications
- Export carton sealing for factory packing, warehousing, and distribution work.
- Cold-room cartons for frozen food, seafood, flowers, and chilled goods.
- Heavy duty packaging where filled cartons create strong closing stress.
- Recycled carton sealing where standard acrylic tape may show edge lift.
- Automatic carton sealing lines that need stable unwind and clean cutting.
- Printed, coated, rough, or low-grade linerboard cartons.
How does solvent adhesive tape perform on difficult carton surfaces?
Solvent adhesive tape is often chosen when standard carton sealing tape cannot keep the box closed reliably. Its adhesive system wets the surface quickly and bonds to rough recycled cartons, dusty corrugated board, printed linerboard, and cartons exposed to humidity or temperature changes. On low-grade paperboard, the adhesive has to grip uneven fibers before the flap starts to lift. When used as a machine grade carton sealing tape, steady pressure across the center seam and both side edges is important.

FAQ
Is Solvent Adhesive Tape better than water-based acrylic tape?
It depends on the carton surface and storage condition. Solvent adhesive grades usually perform better on rough, dusty, recycled, humid, or low-temperature carton surfaces.
Can this tape be used on automatic carton sealing machines?
Yes. Machine rolls can be supplied with 3 inch cores and lengths such as 500 m, 900 m, or 1000 m. Roll tension and cutting behavior should be tested before continuous production.
Which thickness is better for heavy cartons?
For standard cartons, 45 um or 50 um is often suitable. For heavier cartons, export packaging, cold storage, or boxes with high flap tension, 65 um or 90 um provides stronger backing support.
Does the tape work in cold storage conditions?
Rubber solvent grade tape can work in lower-temperature packaging conditions, with a typical service range around -20C to 60C. Apply firm pressure and test on the actual carton grade before regular use.
